Charrette at Otis College of Art + Design

For the very first time, the Communication Design program at Otis convened a week-long charrette exploring one theme: citizenship. Interdisciplinary students, faculty, and staff — including newly-hired Creative Director Sheharazad Fleming — mixed with four visiting artists.
Silas and I strategized approaches and structures for about a month leading up to the charrette week; Mary prompted students to think small and concentrate their message. Students clustered around topics like belonging, unity, empathy, and sharing a meal, iterating and refining table by table, producing risograph posters as evidence of the work.
